Course Description: Organization, administration, and services of municipal, county, and regional libraries. Basic developments and trends are considered. The role of public libraries as educational institutions is examined.
Course Objectives:
1. Students will gain knowledge of public library history;
2. Students will understand public library organization and governance;
3. Students will recognize staffing needs;
4. Students will identify community requirements for services and programs.
